You Think You’re So Big when God Is Bigger

I can stand at the ocean all day. I can meander in and out of the tide, the cool water kissing my feet, splashing my legs. I can body surf, sit in the sand and get a tan. No matter how big I think I am, or how important I may believe myself to be, I am still NOT bigger than the ocean.

It will squash me flat. Tear me up. Kill me instantly. Drown me fast. If the waves don’t do that, then the sea life surely could rip me to shreds in a moments notice.

The ocean can kill you fast

Either way I look at it, the ocean is bigger than me and I could die in a split second. And guess what? I didn’t create the ocean. God did.

God created it, and he is bigger than his creation. Let that sink in for a minute.

I can toil to get to that mountaintop. I can stand there in the splendor of mornings glory and think I stand on top of the world with clouds at my feet.

But the sun still rises above me. The mountain peaks are splinters compared to the hands who created their powerful majesty. God created the mountains, and he is bigger than his creation. panoramic-3323891_1920

Let that sink in for a minute.

We stand in our cities we invented with hands we gloat over. We think we are so big when God is bigger. We recreate things and inventions that have all been done before. Same thing, different era.

We are nothing compared to the hands of the creator, who is bigger than his creation. But we think we are so big. “But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.” I Timothy 6:11
